Process

Natural Bombe is a true testament to the rich flavors inherent in meticulously processed coffee cherries. Sourced from only the finest, fully ripened cherries, this specialty coffee undergoes a journey of transformation that begins with careful selection. Upon arrival at the processing station, each cherry is meticulously inspected and floated to ensure that only the highest quality beans are used in the final product.
Once selected, the cherries are carefully laid out on traditional African beds, where they are left to bask in the sun’s warmth for a period of 14 to 18 days. This natural drying process allows the cherries to develop their distinct flavor profiles, resulting in a coffee that is rich, aromatic, and bursting with complexity.
After the drying process is complete, the cherries are locally hulled to reveal the unsorted natural beans hidden within. These beans are then transported to Addis Ababa, the bustling capital city of Ethiopia, where they undergo a final round of sorting to ensure uniformity and quality.
Both the properties of the coffee and its meticulous process generate an exceptional cup. The result is a coffee that embodies the unique terroir of the Bombe region, with notes of ripe fruit, floral undertones, and a smooth, lingering finish.
